इस लेख को पढने से पहले एक शब्द जिसका बाइबल में अनेक स्थानों पर प्रयोग किया जाता है उसे समझ लें. ये शब्द है हीथन (HEATHEN).
आज कल ये शब्द अधिक प्रचलन में नहीं हैं किन्तु जिस काल में बाइबल की रचना की गयी, उस समय इस का विशेष प्रचलन था. शब्द कोष के अनुसार वो सब व्यक्ति जो अब्राहमी मतों से भिन्न हैं अर्थात यहूदी, इसाई और इस्लाम के अतिरिक्त जितने भी सम्प्रदाय अथवा धर्म हैं, उनकी पद्धति से पूजा करने वाले हीथन हैं. यही शब्दकोष हमें बताते हैं कि हीथन शब्द का प्रयोग इन तीन सम्प्रदाय के अनुयायिओं को लज्जित करने के लिए किया जाता है क्योंकि ये एक अपमानजनक शब्द है. इस परिभाषा के अनुसार, हिन्दू, सिख, बौध, जैन, पारसी इत्यादि सभी हीथन हैं.
इसाई मत की पुस्तक बाइबल का एक अंश है साल्म्स (Psalms) जिसकी आज कल भारत में चर्च के द्वारा 'भजन संकलन' के नाम पर मार्किटिंग की जा रही है. अनजान हिन्दू बच्चे जिन्हें ईसाईयों द्वारा स्थापित हमारी शिक्षा पद्धति में ये सब सिखाया जा रहा है, नहीं जानते कि इन तथाकथित भजनों में इसाई गौड से अन्य सम्प्रदायों और विशेष कर हीथन धर्मों के विनाश और उनकी हत्या की प्रार्थना अथवा स्तुति की जा रही है.
2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the
earth for thy possession.
यदि तुम मांगोगे तो मैं हीथनों को तुम्हारा दास (गुलाम) बना दूंगा और सारी पृथ्वी पर तुम्हारा (ईसाईयों का) अधिकार करा दूंगा.
2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
तुम उन्हें लोहे की छड़ों से मारोगे; तुम उन के टुकड़े टुकड़े कर दोगे मानो वो एक मिटटी के बर्तन हों.
2.12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
उस गौड से प्रेम करो नहीं तो उसे क्रोध आ जाएगा और यदि ऐसा हुआ तो उसके तनिक से क्रोध से तुम्हारा सर्वनाश हो जाएगा. उन्हीं को आशीर्वाद मिलता है जो उस पर विश्वास करते हैं.
3:7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
उठो, ओ मेरे लॉर्ड; मुझे बचाओ मेरे गौड: क्योंकि ये तुम्ही हो जिसने मेरे शत्रुओं की गाल पर मारा है; तुम्ही ने उन नास्तिकों के दांत तोड़े हैं.
44:2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
किस प्रकार तुम ने हीथनों को तुम्हारे हाथों से भगा दिया; किस प्रकार तुम ने लोगों को सताया और उन्हें निकाल बाहर किया.
50:22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
ये जान लो कि जो गौड को भुला देगा, गौड उसके टुकड़े टुकड़े कर देगा और उसे बचाने वाला कोई नहीं होगा.
52:5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
| गौड तुम्हारा सदा के लिए विनाश कर देगा, वो तुम्हें तुम्हारे घरों से निकाल बाहर करेगा और तुम्हें जीवित लोगों की भूमि से उखाड़ देगा. |
जो उचित मार्ग पर चलते हैं, वो ये सब देख कर उन पर हसेंगे और डरेंगे.
54:5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
वो मेरे शत्रुओं में बुराई भर देगा और उन्हें सत्य से दूर कर देगा.
55:15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
मौत उन्हें अपने अधिकार में करे और वो शीघ्रता से नर्क में गिरें: क्योंकि उनमें और उनके घरों में नीचता का वास है.
55:23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
किन्तु ऐ मेरे गौड, तुम उन्हें विनाश के गड्ढे में गिराओगे: नीच और धूर्त लोग अपना जीवन आधा ही जी पायेंगे; किन्तु मैं तुम पर विश्वास करूंगा.
58:6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
ओ मेरे गौड, उनके मुंह में उनके दांत तोड़ दो: उनके युवाओं के बड़े दांत तोड़ दो, ओ लॉर्ड.
58:7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
वे ऐसे पिघल जाएँ जैसे निरंतर बहने वाला जल होता है: जब वो बाण चलाने के लिए अपने धनुष को मोड़ें तो उनको टुकड़ों में काट दो.
58:8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
जैसे एक घोंघा पिघलता है, वो सब वैसे ही मर जाएँ: एक महिला के अनापेक्षित जन्म की भांति वो कभी भी सूर्य को न देख पायें.
58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
जो सही हैं, वो इस प्रतिशोध को देख कर प्रसन्न होंगे: वो अपने पाँव इन नीचों के रक्त से धो लेंगे.
59:5 Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
इसलिए तुम, ओ लॉर्ड गौड, इस्राइल के गौड, उठो और सभी हीथनों के यहाँ जाओ: किसी भी धूर्त पर दया मत करना.
वो दिन ढलने पर लौटते हैं तो कुत्तों की भाँती हल्ला करते हैं तथा नगर में विचरण करते हैं.
59:7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
वो अपने मुख से डकार लेते हैं: उनके मुंह में तलवार है: वो कहते हैं कि, कौन सुन रहा है?
59:8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
किन्तु ओ लॉर्ड, तुम तो उन पर हंसोगे और सभी हीथनों को लज्जित करोगे.
दयावान गौड मुझे रोक लेगा: मेरे शत्रुओं के लिए जो मेरी इच्छा है उसे गौड पूर्ण करेगा.
59:13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
उन्हें अपने क्रोध से मिटा दो, मिटा दो, ताकि वो बच न पायें: और उन्हें पता लगे कि पृथ्वी के एक छोर से दूसरे छोर तक गौड का जैकब के माध्यम से शासन है.
बाइबल का गौड कुछ राष्ट्रों को प्रेम करता है और कुछ अन्य को अपशब्द कहता है.
60 : 7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
जिलीद मेरा है, मनास्सेह मेरा है; एफ्रेम मेरी शक्ति है; मेरा जुडा न्यायकारी है;
| 60: 8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me. |
मोआब तो मेरा गंदे जल वाला बर्तन है, एडोम पर मैं अपना जूता फेंकता हूँ: फिलिस्टिया मेरे कारण विजयी हुआ है.
68:21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
किन्तु जो गौड के शत्रु हैं, गौड उनका सर को घायल कर देगा, यही स्थिति उनकी होगी जो गौड के विरुद्ध चलते हैं.
68:22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:
लॉर्ड ने कहा, मैं बाशान से ले कर आऊंगा, मैं अपने लोगों को समुद्र की गहराई से लेकर आऊंगा.
68:23 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.
ताकि तुम अपने पाँव अपने शत्रु के रक्त से धो सको और तुम्हारे कुत्ते भी अपनी जिव्हा धो सकें.
69:23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
उनकी आँखों को अँधा कर दो ताकि वो देख न सकें; और सदा के लिए कांपते रहें
69:24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
उन्हें लज्जित कर दो, और अपने भयंकर क्रोध में उनको जकड लो.
69:25Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
उनके निवास स्थानों को वीरान कर दो ताकि उनके तम्बुओं में कोई न रहे.
69:27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
उनके अधर्म को और बढ़ा दो: और उन्हें अपने उचित मार्ग पर न आने दो
69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
उनका नाम जीवित लोगों की पुस्तक में से मिटा दो, और न ही सत्य के मार्ग चलने वालों में लिखा जाए.
73:27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
क्योंकि, वो जो तुम से परे हैं नष्ट हो जायेंगे: तुम ने उन सब को नष्ट कर दिया है जो तुम से परे हो कर वेश्यावृति करते हैं.
यदि आप को इन तथाकथित भजनों की भाषा पर आश्चर्य हो रहा है तो आप को गौड की भाषा का भी अवलोकन कर लेना चाहिए.
